Are You Mac Enough?

First we have Nike Air, now we have Macbook Air. Steve Jobs had Macworld attendees salivating over the uber-thin Macbook Air on Tuesday.

Specs:

* Operating System: Mac OS X
* Processor Speed: 1.6 GHz
* RAM: 2 GB
* Weight: 3 lb
* Screen Size: 13.3 inches
* Screen Size Type: widescreen
* Graphics Card: Intel GMA X3100
* Storage Capacity: 80 GB
* Networking Options: 802.11n
* Primary Optical Drive: External

There are two models available. The 1.6GHz is 1799 USD for conventional mechanical hard drive and $3089 USD for its solid state hard drive equivalent (1.8GHz).

Below: Inside of the machine. Most of the space is occupied by the battery.

Below: The machine is designed to be a wireless machine so doesn't even come with an Ethernet port. The only ports it has are headphone, Micro DVI (for projector/monitor output) and a USB 2.0 socket.
One can buy an Ethernet USD adapter for an extra 29 USD.

Below: Bottom of the machine. No panel lines because there is no user replaceable battery. The built in one lasts for 5 hours and can be replaced for a 129 USD-ish fee at the Apple Store.

Below: The new touchpad supports the same gestures that we first saw with the iPod Touch. You can pinch, zoom and flick through pages too. You can see some of these gestures in the YouTube video above.

Below: The MacBook Air does not come with an optical drive. Instead, you can share the drive of your other PC or Mac and the MacBook Air can use that to install software.

Note: Good news is if you are a Windows user then you may be glad to know that Mac runs Windows perfectly with BootCamp - no messing with drivers either.

@Devious: So you are also a Mac Book Air Fangirl :D (I'm a bit dissapointed.
The problems that I see in the Mac Book Air are:
1. The SSD version is way too expansive.
2. There are no expansion possibilities. Only one USB2.0 and no Firewire, HDMI, Build in Cardreader, Express Card slot.
3. NOT replacible battery.
I just hope that Apple will upgrade the Mac Book Pro soon ;-)

@D: You know, the first thing that came into my mind -when reading this topic title- was wondering what kind of self-test this could be; WTH, testing oneself on the level of slutty-ness?!?! LOL ;)

@Mav: still not having dropped your Apple stocks? :P
